About Ueda Sukesada
Mr. Ueda was born in 1947. He practiced martial arts since high school. He wanted to make a sharper Japanese sword with his own hands, so he quit his job and became a swordsmith. It was a big decision because he already had a wife and children.
Mr. Ueda has raised 14-5 apprentices so far, although many swordsmiths do not take on apprentices due to its cost. This shows Mr. Ueda’s character. He is currently 76 years old. He has recently taken on a new apprentice. "Although I'm concerned about health, I want to continue training as long as my body allows me to" he said.
His school consistently uses Japanese sand iron to make homemade Tamahagane. Using this Tamahagane, they create blades that are straight and cut well.

Before Placing Your Order
Mr. Ueda’s knives, unlike those from other manufacturers, do not have uniform shapes or sizes. There are two reasons for this. One is that Mr. Ueda is nearly 80 years old. The other reason is that he believes a knife should serve its purpose as a tool, and that’s what matters most.
I have also made requests regarding the thickness and width of the blade several times. However, the knives I received were different from what I requested.
Mr. Ueda’s knives, made from tamahagane steel, are still highly valuable. Additionally, he is currently busy crafting japanese swords, so he can only produce 2 to 3 knives per month.
Given the above considerations, please place an order for Mr. Ueda’s knives. We won't accept returns or complaints.
