Suketada Kikuchi Tamahagane Santoku (Bunka) 170mm
It is a beautiful piece of art.
I love it !!! Thank you !!!
Words cannot describe how much I love this knife.
Dear Loan-san,
Thank you so much for your wonderful message.
I’m truly happy to hear that you love the Suketada Kikuchi Tamahagane Santoku (Bunka) 170mm.
Kikuchi-san is a traditional Japanese swordsmith.
He produces his own tamahagane steel from iron sand using the ancient tatara steelmaking method,
and this knife was forged entirely from that self-made tamahagane.
Every process — from forging to polishing — was completed by Kikuchi-san himself.
In the future, we are also planning to offer a different version in which the final sharpening will be done by a specialized sharpener.
We truly appreciate your kind support and hope you will continue to follow our work.
Thank you again for choosing Ichie Hamono.
Warm regards,
Ichie Hamono
A very beautiful piece of artwork by blacksmith Kikuchi-San himself and the work he does is amazing. The culture and history of Japanese knives and swords are just amazing. Thank you Kikuchi-San for sharing your experience and story with us and Thank you Ichie Hamono for a great opportunity to own a beautiful piece of article .
Thank you so much for your wonderful review!
The Suketada Kikuchi Tamahagane Santoku is indeed a special piece, forged from Kikuchi-san’s self-made Tamahagane using the traditional Tatara steelmaking method.
Please note that since this knife is made from Tamahagane, it is more prone to rust. We recommend regular maintenance, such as wiping it dry after each use and applying a light coat of oil to preserve its beauty and functionality for years to come.
We truly appreciate your support and hope you enjoy using this extraordinary piece.
Best regards,
Ichie Hamono
